James Elizaga

Landscape Architecture Project Engineer

Early in life, I was taught all things landscape from my father who was an engineer and DIYer around the house. I learned the labor side of landscaping as we did all the work ourselves. Everything from laying bricks, stones and cement to trenching irrigation lines and planting trees and shrubs. In 1997, I started a family and joined the Army. I would end up serving a total of 8 years in the Army and honorably discharged in 2005. Shorty after, I began my education in Landscape Architecture. I would go on to further my knowledge in landscape design, taking a special interest in native species and drought tolerant planting. After graduating, I began subcontracting for several companies utilizing my skills on large projects. Before long, I would continue schooling with computer aided drafting and other programs such as Revit and Sketchup. These programs would prove to assist greatly in my passion for Landscape Architecture and Design as well keep up with my colleagues in the field. I joined Rich at SKSI in 2020 and continue my pursuit to help clients realize their visions and contribute greatness to the industry.
